CHANNELSIDE. This waterside collection of retailers, nightlife, and restaurants is centered on an attractive, European-style brick plaza that features palm trees, fountains and umbrella-shaded tables. An urban oasis of sorts, Channelside offers the downtown crowd a pleasant escape from their steel and glass offices. The popular shops here carry wares ranging from premium cigars, coffee and wine to oil paintings and tropical apparel. In addition, the center features a handful of restaurants, a cinema and IMAX, and free public concerts every Friday and Saturday night.

CITRUS PARK. With stone walkways and quaint street lamps, this shopping center is a great place to browse. The intention was to give each store an individual storefront and unify them all along an imagined street. The effect works, and it also makes for a pleasant shopping experience. JCPenney, Sears, Macy's and Dillard's anchor the mall and are surrounded by Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn, Banana Republic and Williams-Sonoma. Restaurants, a food court and a movie theater add to the mall's appeal.

AIRPORT AREA. Incredibly convenient to the airport, Westshore can help travelers beat the boredom of a layover. Constantly improving itself, the mall has added a Saks Fifth Avenue to its fold, along with a theater and a score of new shops. Along with four department stores, it also houses the Gap, Banana Rrepublic, Old Navy and other favorites. The food court has is an easy place to pick up a quick bite.
